Smeared them across an easel world,
Brush tipped red planets and yellow suns,
Spackled splotches on the sky and swirled
white galaxies and blue cloaked earth
Water colored sunrise and sunset hues
Mixed black thunder clouds and steel rain gray
Winter white clouds and daily dress blues.
He added velvet night and jewel stars,
Black shadow silhouettes and yellow moon,
Stirred in pink and purple twilight haze
Etched white heat shimmer for summer noon.
He evergreened trees with His fingertips
Marking others with green shades of spring
He colored brash autumn orange and yellow
Black Eyed Susans dancing a summer fling.
He smoothed brown soil across the canvas
Drew clover fields waving purple power
Colored seeds for beets red and peppers green
Set his palm color print in every flower.
The artist grasps His brush in one hand,
Uses paint smeared fingers with the other
He lovingly perfects his painting
Wearing a smock splashed with rainbow color.
