Topic: Abundance (06/08/06)
The sound of guns and bombs going off, were Eric’s only lullaby. The cries of the dead and dying were always with him, even in his dreams. Eric was not sorry he was serving his country, and fighting against terror, he was sorry that he had to kill another human being. One evening while on patrol he saw a soldier lying in a bed of debris not far from him. He went over to see if he could help, to his surprise he discovered that he was an insurgent, obviously left behind for dead by his fellow soldiers. Eric paused for a minute praying for guidance. He knew if he helped him, and the insurgent lived, he would have to be handed over for trial. But if he did not help him, he would be doing wrong by God. So Eric knelt down next to the young man and said, “I am here to help you, were are you hurt?” The insurgent looked up with the fright of an animal caught in a trap
“you are American why you want to help me instead of kill me”? Eric replied
“because I am a christen and right now I do not see you as the enemy, I see someone who needs to be cared for and told how very much God loves you”
“God” “spat the insurgent “we are taught to hate God”
“I know” Eric replied “but God still cares whether you hate Him or not, and I care because I love God” The insurgent was quite a moment before replying “my name is Armad, and it is my head that hurts, but I think my leg is broken.” Eric tended to Armad, and while he was bandaging him up he told him of Gods love, how Jesus had died for His sins. Then that night amidst the sounds of war and death, an insurgent and enemy of the United States came to Jesus. For it is out of the Abundance of ones heart, that they can give help to another human being, enemy or not.

A beautiful story that I wish and I hope could be true. The language barrier, of course, is what makes it seem unreal - but a Great Story. It needs some editing and paragraphing, but a very touching story. I liked it.

Tight piece, that might have been broadened. Split the paragraphs with a space for readability. I think you have a good start here. With work this could build into a wonderful testament to God's power.
