From womb to light of day,
Your Hand was there to help me,
To guide me on the way.
When toddler feet did totter
With balance not yet won,
You did not leave me helpless.
I learned to walk, then run.
You stirred this young girl’s passion
Upon a Sunday morn
As words of challenge echoed
And I became reborn.
And when this man and woman
Made promises to stay
Together through the best years
And worst times, come what may,
You joined with us to strengthen
A bond that’s not to fray,
A three strand cord You wove us.
One flesh, one Lord, each day.
And through the years we praised You
For each new babe You’d given.
Your Hand was there to lead them
From birth, through life, to Heaven.
When I begin the journey
That finishes my days,
You’ll be right there to meet me
And guide me in Your ways.
