Depression, loss – it all had been too much.
Although I longed to help you, set you free,
I could not reach you with My healing touch.
My fingertips were just an inch away
As you refused to let Me be a part.
I watched you doing ev’rything your way.
Concern welled up from broken, aching heart.
Although you didn’t know it at the time,
I felt your pain and cried each tear with you.
Your lovely face was always on My mind.
Compassion made me cry My own tears, too.
I saw your choices hurt you all the more.
Was hard, but I had made you with a will.
I could not give you all I had in store;
I had to wait – My longing unfulfilled.
I’d watched and waited, longing for that day
When you’d come back and share your hurts, your fears.
I saw you, ran to meet you on your way,
You sobbed and soaked My shoulder with your tears.
You realized how much you needed Me
And that you could not do it on your own.
Convinced you need My help to be set free.
Relieved that you no longer are alone.
So pleased to have you in my arms again,
To hold, to help, to heal My child, dear,
To listen, lead, give peace and hope within,
To touch you, hold you close and dry each tear.

"You sobbed and soaked My shoulder with your tears." Without this kind of release, our repentance is only a word game!
Very nice - very heartfelt.
