A brand is important
be it clothes or less,
household appliances,
it's a matter of class.
To be seen on the red carpet
at a movie premiere,
your outfit is important
when people stare.
The latest home appliances
to keep up with the Jones,
whether you need it,
like the latest e phone.
People can be branded
by where they abide,
in the slums of a city,
or a mansion seaside.
Cattle and sheep are branded
to show to whom they belong,
to stop them being stolen,
by those who do wrong.
They're branding at the station,
the dust flies in the air.
the beasts are all bellowing,
at the singeing of their hair.
Prisoners were branded
in Nazi prison enclaves,
treated more like cattle,
much worse than slaves.
Branded with Devil's number,
at the end of the age,
means a fiery end to life,
though men may rage.
Better to have God's brand,
as a child of the king,
set apart for his life,
so we can ever sing.

But I will say I loved the last few lines of this poem. Reminds me of the old song "I'd rather have Jesus."
So glad we are sealed by the Holy Spirit forever.
