point of anything
to achieve our utmost
to live like a king.
To what shall we aim
to achieve our best,
to keep on working,
and never rest.
Man has reached for
the furthest star.
Why would he want
to be away that far?
To want to travel to
Mars on a one way track,
is so foolish to me that
they can't make it back.
Man has achieved as much
as his mind can fathom,
yet still wants to go higher
to reach to heaven.
God who made it all
could reach down
to those in earth's thrall
and make them his crown.
Men climb Mount Everest
the zenith in their crown,
some lose their lives
and don't make it down
Jesus came to earth
to give men new birth
he gave his life for them
as one with man on earth.
Some try to reach
their zenith state
by hallucinating drugs
what a mistake.
The highest point
in the universe
above earth and planets,
outside it all is God.
