Grandma, did you hear?
I’m sorry child I must have dozed.
What were you saying dear?
I asked about the vines along the fence.
They certainly look hardy.
Party? Good idea spare no expense
Time there was a family party.
No, Grandma the vines, the vines,
The ones outside behind the roses.
Thanks for asking, I am feeling fine,
Could use some more sleep I suppose.
Grandma I wanted to know about the vines,
But that’s all right never mind.
I disagree about having wines,
But invite everyone leave no one behind
Oh Grammy you’re so sweet,
Please admit you need a hearing aid.
You’re right we’ll need lots to eat
All the good stuff, all homemade.
The vines look like they are extensions
And the rose bushes are the source.
The vines go right thru and continue their ascension.
The thorns don’t cause them to change their course.
It’s as though they take their strength,
From the experience of the pierce.
After spending time with the bush at length,
Their determination to make it is so fierce.
I think I have a lot in common with the vine
Christ took the piercing but it made me stronger.
Yes dear God is most certainly divine,
Everyday he grants me I can love Him longer.
Grammy I agree that is certainly true,
A love like His can’t be beat.
That’s right dear I love you too,
Now tell me when and where do we eat?
