Because of the Holidays there had not been a class gathering in one month and she wondered if anyone would come since it was bitter cold. "But, you must be committed to being there," she said to herself, "even if all the circumstances don't look likely to produce class participants."
Vertice had forgotten that the regular choir practice, always scheduled for Wednesday evenings, was not gathering on this night, so the parking lot was totally empty. It was now dark, but the lights in the parking lot were on.
As she drove into the driveway of the Church another car pulled in also, and that was comforting. Someone had come so she would not be alone for this study; however, she did not recognize the gentleman who got out of the car.
She greeted the gentleman and he said hello to her.
Wondering who this person was and why he was there she asked, "Did you come for Bible Study?"
"No," he answered, "I came for you."
The gentleman walked to the Church's front door and asked her if she thought she could get in to the Church. That sent a chill down her spin. The entire class knew that she had a key fob to get into the Church. Well, that is what she thought.
Once again she asked the gentleman if he had come for a meeting, and once again his answer was, "No! I came for you!"
Thinking that his answer was not one that she liked, she got into the car and drove back home.
Vetrice sent e-mails to all the class, except for Sam and Mary. Sam had an optic nerve problem during the Holidays and Mary had told her that Sam was restricted by his doctor from everything, including his golf games! No television, no reading, nothing until mid-February . So Vetrice certainly did not expect Sam to come to class.
But Sam did come! As always Sam got there as she was getting there. Sam, was her best support person and Sam had truly come "for" her; to be support for her because of the great love he holds for God's Word and the recognition that she could use some help.
Vetrice is so embarrassed! The entire class showed up and she was not there.
Worse is that she did not recognize her best support buddy. When will the embarrassment and regret have an ending?
Too often we miss things that are right before our faces because we think we know the facts about the situation.
Sam truly made a giant effort to be at the class, but because she knew he could not be there, she did not recognize him.
We must wonder how many things we miss of what God would do for us because we do not recognize it to be Him?
Luke 19:44 Jesus came to His own people and they did not recognize Him.
Wonder if Jesus also comes to us, or perhaps angels come to us that He has sent, and we do not either recognize them? Hebrews 13:2

My only imput would be for you to put thoughts in italic instead of quotation marks...(though I must admit that it's still a fight for me to get the italic on from the challenge entry page.) I'm not sure how the story link to the topic...though it could just be me.
I appreciate the overall message however. Keep writing.
You may want to try to say more with fewer words, a little more descript.
Good job, keep on writing!
