Topic: Like Living in a Goldfish Bowl (11/07/13)
Endfield, Mn: Dr. Bill Ingan was arriving at the airport from Africa. John Stanely, a member of the board of elders, was there to greet him and summon him to an emergency meeting at the church. At that meeting, the pastor was told by the board that knew he was having an adulteress affair with another woman. Emotionally distraught, he admitted he had failed and tendered his resignation.

Dr. Ingan was the pastor of the 5,000 member Faith Church for twenty years. He became well-known across the state, when he stood up to Governor Nelson, over his remarks that Christians believe in God because they need a crutch.

The above fictional news story is based on a real situation. The names and places have been changed.

Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way we have lived Hebrews 4:13 (NCV)

Unbelievers probably think Pastor Ingan was a fraud. His sin was exposed for the world to see. We are all sinners, no better than the pastor. People are watching us to see what we do or don't do. What does our sin look like to the rest of the world? It might not be marriage infidelity; it might be how we handle a stressful situation with others.

We need to portray Jesus by our actions.

Dear Jesus, I we want to be a good Christian witness, but sometimes my fatal flaws get in the way. Help me to deal with my shortcomings so people can see Jesus in me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Too short but dynamic! I wish you had expanded further, but it is a good warning nonetheless . . .

I agree that this could be expanded, but the point is clear - we are all sinners, so what right do we have to judge others? Nicely done; great message.
