Connie was on her knees in front of her couch. "Lord, do you care? Do you really care about me? I don' t understand why I lost my job?"

About a hour later, Connie was cleaning the kitchen and listening to the news. "The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado warning for Scott County until 4:15 Central Daylight Time."

Connie grabbed her boom box and raced downstairs to a closet. Minutes later, the winds started to howl as her house began to shake and she heard the sound of glass breaking.

Tears rolled down Connie' s eyes. "Lord, please save me. I don't want to die. Please save me."

It started to quiet down for what after seemed a long time. Then her radio beeped again. "The National Weather Service has issued another Tornado Warning for Scott County until 5:45pm. Please stay tuned for further updates."

Five minutes later, she heard the sound of a freight train and felt her ears popping. The house started to shake violently. "Lord, forgive me for not trusting you. I need you, please get me through this situation. I need you."

Thirty minutes later, the following announcement came over the radio, "The Tornado Warning for Scott County has been allowed to expire. Again, the all clear has been given to Scott County."

Connie strolled upstairs and her face turned white. With exception of her front window, her house was intact. She opened the door and walked outside, and her jaw dropped. "Oh Lord my house is the only home in the neighborhood that survived. Thank you for taking care of me. I'll never doubt you again. I was so thankful to hear that the warning expired because you got me through a grueling two hours. Please help my neighbors who lost their homes. Please show me how I can help them."

Two hours later she was interviewed by a TV news crew. "You told us the only thing you grabbed was your radio. How did you feel when you heard that the Tornado Warning expired?"

The reporter placed the microphone in front of Connie's mouth. "I felt relieved because I was in the closet for two hours. It was hard to be cooped up for so long. I was also scared because two different tornados hit my neighborhood. I didn’t know what to expect when I went upstairs. Like the expiration date on a carton of Milk, My fear expired and I was praising the Lord when I saw that my house had not been damaged. I was questioning the Lord earlier today. I didn't think he cared about me. I'm at awe at his power to save."

The reporter smiled. "It appears that you're really blessed. Although, what about your neighbors? Their homes were completely destroyed."

Connie's face turned glum. "I feel really bad for them. I am going to do everything I can help them. I am going to let some of them stay at my house. I want to show them that Jesus loves them. My church is going to help the rest."

The reporter moved the microphone back to herself. "Hopefully something good will come out of this tragedy."
