He showed up every Sunday, but for what he didn’t get.
He waded in the church and he got his feet all wet.
But he didn’t have the Lord’s rest, yet.
Story, for a warning to ya.

He didn’t have the Lord’s rest, yet.
He waded in the church and he got his knees all wet
He prayed for this and that, then constantly he’d fret.
He waded in the church and he got his knees all wet.
But the savior of the world, he hadn’t met!
He waded in the church and he got his wallet wet.
He gave lots of money, to be wasted he would bet.
He waded in the church and he got his wallet wet,
But he didn’t know that God had paid his debt.

He waded in the church and he got his head all wet.
He dabbled in the Bible, words to him did not rivet.
He waded in the church and he got his head all wet
But God’s love in his heart he never let.
He waded in the church and his soul remained all wet.
He refused to see Lord Jesus that all our sin he did forget.
He waded in the church and his soul remained all wet.
Now he won’t be wading in his casket.

No one ever wades in their casket.
If you’re wading in the church, now don’t get all upset.
Tell God of every sin and every sin regret.
Jesus paid for all of them, the total of your debt.
Ask Jesus in your heart and you’re all set.
While wading in the church, have a new mindset
Lord Jesus over all of you; a better life, you bet!
While waiting for that destined day with no fear or regret
Cuz, you’ll have the Lord’s eternal rest, YES!
