“Hi Meg, it’s good to see you. Yes, Meg, I’ve heard. It’s all over the news. I’d love to talk longer, but I’ve got to pick up the dry cleaning, and get a few things at the grocery store before heading home to fix supper for my family. Will talk later when I have more time. Take care.”
I rushed to my car with my head down hoping I’d get there before another person stopped me, and started talking about current affairs. I may live here, but darned there is other things to talk about other then current affairs. I’d scream if I thought it would help. Life goes on day in and day out. Same old garbage, just another day. Oh, you must keep up with what is happening around the world Sadie. If you don’t life will pass you by, and you won’t have a clue what is going on. Oh, Sadie, Sadie, Sadie.
I’m far from being dead, and I can read, hear, understand, comprehend the affairs of this world without everybody pointing them out to me. My life does not revolve around current affairs. Ye, they have there place, and are important, but I don’t dwell on them.
My friends are so wrapped up in all the goings on around this old world you would think that current affairs was all that mattered. What about God, family, and friends just getting together for fun.
Heaven forbid if I try to talk to my friends about my Lord and Savior. After all He created everything and I think He is more important then anything. He knows what is going to happen before it does. He ordains everything and my friends look at me as if I’ve lost my mind when I tell them that.
If my friends would read their Bible, and not dwell on current affairs, letting God do the heavy lifting they would be so much better off. In Romans 12:2 it says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
I obey the laws of this land, and respect my leaders although I don’t always agree with what they are saying. I also submit to the authorities, because my Savior tells me that it is the right thing for me to do. My friends think I’m clueless, because I don’t dwell on all that is going on in this world, I’m just pass through. Hebrews 13:14 says it better then I can, “For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.”
