When some hear the word yellow they equate that color with many different things. Others see our sun while others see gold which is yellow in color.Research told me yellow was considered by some to mean people who were treacherous, cowardly and the like: ergo yellow-bellied cowards. Also during medieval times Judas Iscariot was portrayed as wearing yellow garments and he betrayed Christ. Interesting to say the least.
Some equate the golden years with yellow, but to me it is more. In my opinion age has nothing to do with the golden years. I have seen some people who consider themselves old at 60 but 60 is NOT old. On this earth we are confined by time but God is outside of time so He is ageless. We too will be like Him one day.
I cannot say what the color yellow means to others, but to me yellow represents God. He is vibrant, majestic, beautiful, the epitome of love and His brilliance outshines our sun.
No matter what comes I look towards heaven and God’s new Jerusalem. Just read God’s description in the book of Revelation starting with chapter 21. John described the new city of God and His city is pure gold, as pure as glass. To me that is the true color of yellow. A beautiful city where all of God’s children will abide with Him forever. Ah! Yellow the color of inexpressible joy.
