A glimmer of the echo that once heard
The pews have been idled, the pulpit lays bare
The church seems to be dying and so does God's Word
The years of the past and present
Remain so empty, so anonymous and so alone
Our faith and hope so meaningless a
And the love of Christ so seemingly unknown
The hungry still hunger for the love of God
The homeless still seek shelter away from harm
The heartbroken still seek hope beyond the graying clouds
The despair and despond still seek peace in His arms
Throughout the world it's a haunting question, an unseen fault
But still only one simple question remains
Where have all the Christians gone
And why did they leave the world so unchanged
Perhaps they've fallen asleep in the shadows
Or maybe they've wander to a convention today
Maybe they've bunkered in a shelter waiting for Him to come
Or maybe they're deep within in a hole just content to pray
Christians' are becoming a memory that's quietly fading past
To a world that so desperately needs their message of hope and love
Shimmering and glistening to a world and a country that's almost another once was
Where is their Savior and His salvation from above
Joy and hope are always lost and always found
But somewhere in this world we must find a place where they belong
Or always must be ask and wonder
Where have all the Christians' gone
