“The boys” may have had the same face but their personalities and character were as different as day and night. Adam had always been the adventuresome one and the risk taker. Joshua was more subdued and tended to listen to his parents, until Adam would convince him of a better way. The better way usually ended them in hot water and on the receiving end of a lecture and punishment.
Joshua had accepted Christ when he was twelve, Adam did too at least he said he did, although his parents were not so sure. Adam had been caught stealing a couple of times and he had tried to implicate Joshua by lying about whose idea it was. The more his parents tried to teach him the Ten Commandments, the more it seemed he tried to break them. It was as though there was something evil that was trying to take over him. Every school that he had been enrolled in eventually sent home a letter that said he had no more chances there. He had few friends and he liked it like that. He had his brother and to him Josh was the “good” part of him. His parents constantly asked, “Why can’t you be more like your brother?”
Joshua on the other hand when presented with his wrongdoing always took his punishment without complaining and promised to do better. He was well liked in school and had many friends, except when Adam was around. Joshua’s friends did not like the malicious way Adam would tease them. Joshua tried to explain it was just Adam’s way of having fun and he didn’t mean any harm.
On their sixteenth birthday not wanting to punish Joshua because of Adam’s behavior, their parents bought them a used car. Their thinking was by giving the car to both of them, Joshua would be there to keep an eye on Adam. And so it was the night of the accident.
Adam had egged on Joshua to drive faster than the speed limit by saying, “Come on Josh open her up let’s see what she’s got!” “Don’t be a chicken!”
Joshua floored the gas pedal and as they sped down the road a fleeting thought that this was wrong came across his mind but he would never let Adam think he was chicken. The curve in the road came up quickly and he tried to brake but it caused the car to spin out and the last thing he did before the crash was look at Adam.

When Adam woke up he was surrounded by light. There was a train and a man dressed like a train conductor kept beckoning to him. “Get on board young man, get on board.”
Adam got on the train and as it took off it seemed to lift into the heavens. He heard the conductor say “This is the train to Glory, some of you will be staying and other’s…well, just think of this as a sightseeing tour. As they passed beyond the clouds and into another realm he glimpsed the pearly gates. He suddenly felt a peace that he had never known before. He looked out the window and saw streets of gold and mansions to numerous to count. He could feel the anticipation of every one there. “He’s coming,” he heard them say, “He’s coming.” The feeling of peace now was coupled with total love. He could not explain it, it just felt right.
“My child, not yet, just know that I love you” he heard a voice tell him. “Go back tell others that it’s real, heaven is a real place.”
As the train continue it’s journey most of the passengers got off. Adam thought about Joshua. “Where’s Josh? Is he okay? Is he on this train too?” He thought if anybody deserved to see this and be here on this train, it’s Josh. This place is so beautiful and so peaceful, why would I want to go back?

Joshua was on a train too. The train he was on everyone was crying, screaming and begging the conductor to stop the train or least give them a second chance. .. to be cont’d
