I was standing at the door enjoying the rhythm of the sounds being played, when my gaze caught the sight of old Santa coming towards me. His clothing was that of simplicity. His skin was wrinkled and scarred from years of work. I could clearly see that old Santa had entered his twilight years. He was a man that had recorded great success but was now retired. As he drew nearer, I could see that his body was bent and his strength was ebbing.
He drew closer to me and I greeted him. " Good day, Mr Santa. It is such a great pleasure to have you here.
" Ah, young man, it is always my pleasure to come worship and visit the king ... "
I said nothing more to him but pondered on the words of this great man as he spoke with me.
" My dear, I am now old. My eyes are cloudy and my vision is low. My hands are gnarled, arthritic and calloused. My voice is rough. I wonder if people can hear me. Your skin is new, soft and healthy. You have many years ahead of you. You are just beginning life. Just seeing you and talking to you makes me dream of becoming young again. Your eyes are black and bright. You have curls on your head. I believe you can make it. You give me hope. I retired from active service many years ago and have lived a hard life"
"Ah, to share my experience has always been my dream. I love to help young people like you build your strength and esteem. To tell you who, what and where ... Life is an experience. You can live it to the full. I pray God grants you strength in times of adversity. May you make it through hard times"
In answer, I thanked him and appreciated his kind gesture and ushered him in - to worship and enjoy the sweet songs and melodies that was being played.
