Much like a warm blanket softly covering the ground
The color leaves of the fall so casually blown away
The cold of winter is momentarily here to stay
In the silent of the town that sits just beyond the hill below
Like a child's globe covered in mounds of snow
Snowflakes dance upon the clouds up high
Like angels in the midnight sky
The world is silent, the town is dark
No children play, no dog dares bark
In the credence of this once a year so holy night
While the little town sleeps the world sees such a wondrous sight
The darkened world is filled with such hope and love
As the harkened angels fill the skies above
Their music echoes through the once silent town
Glory to God for such their glorious sound
The song of the angels and the light from heaven above
Tonight God's filled this little town with such love
The choruses of cherubs praise their Lord with such song
Little by little the town lights dance on as they begin to listen along
Their eyes gaze for a moment to the midnight sky
Their eyes begin to wonder about the star that sits on high
Above a manager sitting all on its own
In the middle of nowhere it stands all alone
A pitiful stable, filled with straw and hay
Did a pregnant young woman and a man find their way
Crowded with cows, sheep and even a donkey behind
But not at all did this young couple mind
Such pain and sweat wracked this small mother’s frame
But on this lonely night the world would never been the same
Times later a small wail could be heard
He had arrived just in time for the world
He was gently swaddled in cloth and placed in a manger
Surrounded my his mother and the animal stranger
Into a wooden tree he was laid
Onto the same tree the world he'd later save
So often we imagine our most perfect Christmas tree
Ornate with red and green decorated most perfectly by me
The ornaments so gently placed with care
But have we ever stopped to see our Savior's face there
Presents are placed to gently under the beautiful Christmas tree
The most important was the little babe born to die so that we might be free
But do we truly realize or even fully understand
The importance of the Christmas Tree in God’s master plan
