I see a shadow there,
One so full of sin,
An image I cannot bear.
I bow my head in reverence,
A tear runs down my cheek,
I carry shame and guilt,
My flesh and heart are weak.
At times I sit in silence,
Waiting for a voice,
Will he just say something,
So I don't make a wrong choice.
The decisions I have made,
Have left a cross to haul,
My body is wo weary,
At times I have to crawl.
Then I feel the heavy load,
Lifted off my back,
The shadow disappears,
It turns to white from black.
A tremendous wave of comfort,
Touches my every cell,
I know it is my Father,
His love I can always tell.
He reaches out to hold me,
When overcome with sin,
He forgives my bad decisions,
He cleanses me within.
He is my one creator,
My answer to each prayer,
A Father to all children,
I know he's always there.
I know my sinful shadow,
Can not withstand the love,
It has been washed and sanctified,
By my Father high above.
