"If he gets a bigger part of the pie, then there is less for me"
This seems to be the mentality. Sadly, this mentality can be seen in anyone, regardless of race or creed - even Christians.
Sometimes it can be easy to let our "human nature" trump our "Christian nature".
"oh, well, I don't know why he is getting the raise, I mean, I KNOW he is an atheist!"
Should it matter? Of course not, but sometimes we (Christians) forget this. God loves all His children.
When a believer encourages another believer, he is behaving in the way Christ intended. The Christian church does not have walls, but instead it is the spirit that unites us all. It is a spiritual environment of love, compassion, and encouragement - a living testimony to Christ.
So I ENCOURAGE you to start ENCOURAGING your fellow man. You'll soon see that "encouragement" and "love" are close cousins.
As it is written in Acts 13:15 (NIV):
"Brothers, if you have a message of encouragement for the people, please speak"
Let the encouragement begin!

I'd suggest that you eliminate the quotation marks around short phrases--they are used to indicate that you're using the phrase ironically, which is not the case here. Your sentences will be stronger and clearer without them.
This is a nice little gem of a piece.
