"A man shall... cleave unto his wife..." (Gen. 2:24,KJV).
As a child, I grew up in a single parent family. My mother and my grandmother raised me. Despite my mother's pleadings with me, I was unfriendly to boys. She seemed to have a knack for finding men who either would not or could not commit to her. For example, when I was 16, her on again off again boyfriend of eight years disappeared from our lives. In other words, he just stopped calling and stopped coming over. However, during this time, God brought several faithful male family members alongside me. My heart began to soften toward men in general as a result of their attentiveness. After I became a Christian, I stopped telling jokes that were derogatory toward men. In addition, I began to lose my fear of the opposite sex. I realized that seeking God's wisdom about a relationship would keep me from one that is for me. By His grace, God will give me the emotional boldness to love a man if he decides to send me one. By faith, I hope to build a wonderful Christ-centered with the man.
