Topic: Day's End (01/01/14)
In my window seat viewing the marshmallow-like clouds I couldn’t help but wish the plane would never land. I had spent most of the past year in a rewarding ministry: running a food pantry, transporting and working with women prisoners – arranging and organizing consignment shops that offered the disadvantaged populace affordable clothing and other necessities, helping with gigantic Christmas outreaches serving the under-privileged in seemingly endless lines working shoulder to shoulder with others whom I will always hold in my heart. Seeking and being given permission to do a children’s story hour, finding age appropriate books, putting up invitational posters in the local area, and the most enjoyable joining the children in their circle on the floor reading to them, all provided forever memories.

However, it was over - the fulfillment and satisfaction that I realized at the end of each work day would no longer be. The mission of which I had been a part was shutting down, and I had no choice but to return to my home state. So many memories! “Why Lord?” I prayerfully asked while continuing to absorb the heavenly view from my window seat.

My recollection of the plane landing that day is vague to say the least. Perhaps it is God’s way of letting me know that how I handle the ups and downs of life’s journey is up to me, but my day’s end is in His hands.

This read like a "poem" in my mind, it's clarity and visual cues touched my heart.
