the emptiness so dark.
The tears burn the furrows deep
making my life seem so stark.
The sadness that fills my mind
has a melody all its own.
Causing everything I think is right
to turn wrong right to the bone.
I wander through the swamp I’ve made
the one that consumes my life.
I want to stop this scream inside
that stabs me like a knife.
I try so hard to find some help
to buy some with my wealth.
The answer always seemed the same
healing comes from within yourself.
I sensed a voice within my soul
it spoke like a guiding light.
It said, “You asked Me to be here
together we will make things right.”
Sometimes when you’re forgiven
you forget how you got there.
You forget that God’s the Father
with Him a life you’ll share.
You say you looked all over
you haven’t found God at all.
You’ve only sought in a fish bowl
that makes your chances small.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
He will make your world wide.
He’ll help you walk this life in peace
just ask He’ll come inside.
