Fruit is a wonderful word in the sense that it is not merely an edible substance but could be manifested in several ways .
For example a child that is obedient and respectable could be seen as the fruit of the parents labour.
Paul said the fruit of the spirit is love, peace, joy, longsuffering and so on.
However, I would like to share the water melon story that I heard many years ago. A neighbour left a water melon in the home of a young lad. The water melon was looking very good and the young lad wanted to have some without any obvious sign that the water melon had been cut. So he cut little squares, ate the edible part of the fruit and covered the cut area with the skin. He was successful for sometime and no one noticed that the water melon was being eaten. The time came when he ate to much of the fruit. The melon collapsed and he was found out.
This was a story to help us as youngsters realize that, to be sure that your sins shall find you out.
Things have moved on since then and anything goes with no thought about sins, nor the effects that another person suffer from ones selfish desires are being manifested today and the consequences are felt across the globe.
I believe the time has come when the truth of the fruit of the spirit must return to the human race.
Christians are the only people that could share the fruit of God’s love, hence the human race is dependent on us.
