“And we need some ID too”
“What’s your name and how’d you get here?”
“Was your journey, smooth my dear?”
I keep my passport close to me
Along with picture and ID
My name is Deb, of that I’m sure
How I got here? Was peculiar
I’ve traveled very far this night,
Within a most delightful light
It carried me beyond the stars
Above the cities, homes and cars.
To land before this golden door
I’ve never seen such sights before
That could compare to what I see
Not on earth, the sky, or sea.
“Oh yes, your on the list, he said”
As through the gate I’m gently led
Smiling faces that I’ve known
Greet me now with, “Welcome Home”
The softness here beneath my feet
Harps are playing songs so sweet
I dance upon a cloud or two
Now doing things the angels do
I’m lifted into God’s embrace
And feel such peace within this place
Angels singing songs of glee
“Welcome Home”…”Eternally”
