My imagination wandered free one day as to what I would do and where I would go if I could guide the footsteps of someone I know. Much meditation and thought led to honesty, and honesty to the conclusion sad, that I, in my imperfect state, would pity the human whose way I led; their heart would not be glad.

No, protest not, gentle reader! For be sure I know of what I speak. Thus far my walk has selfish been, with effort made persuading foe and friend my way was best, the way to go; manipulations ending in tears and loss, how much I shudder to know. Predicting an outcome of most dire end if control was had by me, I lit upon another course--walk with another and learn from them; that seemed to be the key. But whom of mine acquaintances, I pondered long and deep, do I admire enough to walk beside, be taught by them, but utter not a peep?

My choice fair made, my decision sure, her virtues I do proclaim. Though we have been parted by distance and time, this sweetest of women is a true friend of mine. Never an encounter without an embrace plus soft-spoken words that encourage and teach. Fondly I remember her mirth and her smile, her adventurous spirit, her rise above trials. I would that I could walk with her numberless hours and see through her eyes and know of her thoughts. A day or an hour as I walk with my friend, if I would but follow her lead, must surely result in my soul being lighter, more satisfied with each word and each deed.

So, gentle reader, allow me to describe my perceptions as I walk with my friend. Her steps never falter; gold streets are her path, and a soft light seems to surround her. The air she breathes feels rarified and not what mortal man imbibes. Her speech is pure, devoid of insults, barbs or gossip. Her eyes spill love, no condemnation seen there. My soul does resonate with hers, and I know she loves me wholly. Though she seems complete within herself, she reaches out to me, my friendship to enfold. Her countenance appears to shine and radiates a peace. Happiness bubbles from inner depths and splashes across to me. We laugh, we sing, our limbs are young and never do fatigue.

My description and my vision you question now, I know. I describe a flawless friend; you say this cannot be. But now I do reveal to you, a heavenly abode has she.
