I look within and see weakness
my actions are far from holy
my words are far from pure
so I turn to your word, today
and this is my prayer.
Of all the things you said
pearls of divine wisdom, left here for me
help me find the salty, narrow way.
Then I will stop to notice
a soul who is hurting
even though I am busy
and deadlines abound.
Then I will speak your name
in a room full of people
who hate what you stand for
even though they have yet to know what you stand for.
Then I will admit my sins
that cause so much pain
and turn completely away from them again
knowing I am washed in your precious blood.
Then I won't worry
about the past
but turn to you for each foot step
on the path you have set for me.
Though it be narrow, let me be full of saltiness.
Let me seek, hunger, and thirst for
the salty, narrow way.

I especially like the fourth stanza. Excellent insight into common ignorance.
Well done.
