I didn’t understand why God was allowing me cry myself to sleep each night and wake up depressed very morning. The verses in Matthew 6:25-34 “…Do not be worried about your life….” didn’t mean anything to me then. I had to worry, at least that’s what I thought though it didn’t seem to be solving any of my problems. I couldn’t meet any of my laid out goals or received any of the things I wanted by worrying. And My package didn’t fast track itself to my house either, life just got worse as I choose that path. I am ashamed to say that I lived everyday of my life as if I didn’t know the God that I served. Looking back I realised that everything worked out splendidly. I was desiring for something that I could have only received by being delayed in my current situation and by having to go through all that rejection. The package that I eagerly waited for, arrived 4 months later just before it was being requested, receiving two instead of one. I wondered why I spent every single second God gave me worrying about nothing.
I must say that I have learnt a great deal of lesson from this and now worrying is slowly drifting out of my life by God’s grace. I understand how frustrating it is when we go through certain situations that take a toll on our lives. But we must strive to trust God rather than worry and being anxious however difficult it may be. Trusting God brings us peace and causes God to act in our favour. Everything works for our good as children of God (Romans 8:28) and we must always remember that. What Jesus is simply telling us in Matthew 6:25-34 is to chillax. This is a word I say to myself and to my friends and now to you when I find that I am stressing up about something. To chillax is to chill and relax. Chillaxing means not worrying about anything while you trust God to take the bad and the good and make them great. It is acknowledging the fact that Christ Has Ideally Located Life’s AXis and this axis is HIMSELF. Christ is the structure about which everything in our lives turns or is arranged. HE is the central line in our lives and with this nothing will fall apart. Everything is happening just as it should be and is being arranged to form a perfect structure. HE is our support, right in the centre and thus we will never be left hanging. Christ yearns to draw us to HIMSELF with everything we go through. God always has a plan, whatever we go through is not going to distort HIS perfect and great plan but only make it better.
I know HE sat up with me though all those sleepless nights and wiped my tears. HE wakes us up each morning through our struggles not so we keep enduring the pain but so that we will be able to see HIM bring us to that point where we would see HIS plans for us. This is so that we can watch HIM wipe away our tears and put a big smile on our faces. God loves you and wants the best for you more than you want the best for yourself. Live one day at a time focusing on pleasing God while you Chillax and watch HIM handle all the chaos in your live which, in no time will be an explosion of joy and fulfillment.
Chillax, God is in control.
