is no child's play, it doesn't pay
Lots of chores seem awaiting you
Avalanche of mail and phone calls
They are ever flowing, never
go away for vacation as I do
I am more tired than before
Regrets still resonate with me
Rooms and stationery do get
musty, and withered plants, dead fish
are what you'll find, it's heart-breaking
Shall I replace or replenish
Here and there, fixing things may seem
in no short supply, in frayed nerves
I slog to keep my house in place
Is it worth it? I'd think aloud
Tedious, working like a robot,
and no play, I feel all the wear
and tear like a human machine
Take heart, my dear soul, do you know
He has been there before; recall
how He had busy days healing
preaching, teaching, doing the works
of miracles; he went at last
to sleep in a boat; not for long
His followers panicked and woke
him up to sort out the fierce storm
focused on storms they missed the Lord's
presence; though now He's in heaven
He still invites, "Come unto Me
, all you who are heavy-laden
and I'll give you rest that the world
cannot offer. Trust Me, don't doubt
My words-they won't return in vain
Count on me, just like those who have
lived through the past, now and future."
