“God said it, I believe it, that settles it.”, is a a common saying we have all heard. It really should be, God said it, that settles it. God is the final authority on everything! He is the creator and ruler of the universe. He always has the last word.
From the first recorded words in the Bible God spoke the world into existence. “The world was without form, and void: and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, Let there be light; and there was light.” (Genesis 1:2-3) On and on in the story of creation we find the words “God said” When nothingness turns into “something” by the spoken power of words, that person has ultimate authority.
So who is this God who speaks with so much authority? In Exodus 3:14 He identifies himself as “I AM”. “And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”. And He said “Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you.” “God exists in a way that no one and nothing else does. He is without beginning or end.” (The Believers Study Bible)
God minces no words through Isaiah, the prophet in chapter 44:24-27 “ Thus says the Lord, your redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by myself; who frustrates the signs of the babblers, and drives diviners mad; who turns the wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolishness; who confirms the word of His servant, and performs the counsel of His messengers; who says to Jerusalem, “you shall be inhabited,” to the cities of Judah, “You shall be built, and I will raise up her waste places;” who says to the deep, “Be dry! And I will raise up her waste places.”
Is there any question upon whom the authority of this world rests? Where do we go when we need answers? We go to the source; God alone has answers. He is the only one! If we need to know if something is true we go to the one who said it. God said and the world was formed. God said I AM! God said He is the Lord who makes all things.
This is the same God we find in Matthew 8:16. His words cast out demons or spirits: “When evening had come they brought to Him many who were demon possessed and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.”
In the book of Mark we find Jesus healing a woman after she touched the hem of His garment, Mark 5:34 “And He said to her, “Daughter, you faith has made you well, go in peace and be healed of your affliction.”
Again in Matthew 9:29-30A he heals two blind men, “Then He touched their eyes, saying ,”according to your faith let it be to you.” And their eyes were open...”
Christ will be the final power! I Corinthians 15:24 says, “ Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.”
He begins His book with creation of the world by His spoken word . He ends His book with His spoken word, Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
He is the source! He has the answers to life's questions. Get your information straight from the one who said it! God said it, that settles it.

We just can't take part of God's word to be pleasing to him. If we do this we are deceiving ourselves.
