My problem was I listened to what the flesh (devil) whispered to me all the time: God won’t look out for you; think about yourself; don’t give your all to Him; what if He breaks your heart? For years, I listened to him.
Thank God by His grace and patience with me I am not in bondage to fear and depression anymore. I’ve realized the devil is all bark and no bite. I read in Revelations chapter six that the horses could not move until God commanded them! And also “resist the devil, and he’ll flee from you.” And “he’s like (not even as) a roaring lion”, “we’re not unaware of the devices (of the devil)”. There are a lot of other verses which did not seem to mean much to me before, but not now. That does not mean everything’s perfect now. I still wish I parents who loved each other and all, and sometimes, sometimes, I feel alone and depressed. But the verses come to mind, and I try to dwell on them instead. The devil is a fallen angel who knows he cannot get me God’s child to hell, so wants me to not enjoy “the riches in Christ Jesus.” He has a bark alright, but no bite.
