Topic: Breathe (08/19/10)
Breathe on me, Holy Spirit, Divine.
Impart Thy life, eternal and sublime.
Softly whisper in my ear,
Words too wonderful to hear.

Prayerfully now, I come to you,
Seeking your word, tried and true.
Faith, I pray will come to me,
That I might Thy loyal servant be.

To know your just and perfect love,
I count a blessing from Heaven above.
Hope and faith Thou do impart,
Holy Spirit, pierce the fiber of my heart.

Sweet Jesus, when first to You I came,
Burdened by dreadful sin and blame,
I did not know how deep your love,
Until your Spirit descended from above.

My surrendered life was born anew,
Not just of flesh, but of the Spirit too.
You imparted hope and faith to me,
Gave me purpose only You could see.

Now I walk daily in Your love and grace,
Nothing, I know, will ever take Your place.
You are my Savior, my friend, so true.
My prayer: that He will do the same for you.

Such a sweet "hearts desire" poem. I was touched by every sentiment you wrote but especially liked:You imparted hope and faith to me,

I sgree with Renee on the special statement that meant a lot to me, but frankly, the whole thing meant a lot to me because I LOVE rhyming poetry, and it seems like I find so little of it on here. Keep writing poetry. You have what it takes to touch hearts.

This is beautiful. The rhymes and rhythm all speak of the love of Jesus.

The last two stanzas are my favorite! I love how it talks about the Holy Spirit coming into our life, giving us a purpose that only He knows, and being our Best Friend whom no one can replace!
