And writer of the sea,
Write out words,
Of life in me.
Spell out words that grip
And words that cry;
Words that soar,
And words that die.
Oh writer, paint me a picture
Of time’s deep sigh;
Of yesterday’s tomorrow,
And today’s gone by.
Spell out a song,
Of hope that endures.
And the fickle finger,
Of a death so pure.
Writer, nail my hands,
And spike my feet,
To a cross of death,
And a blood shed sheet.
Words that rend
Till self in me dies.
Till all of my being,
In Jesus relies.
Writer, secure my life,
In words of truth.
Roll away the stone
Of resurrection’s booth.
Pen songs of deliverance,
And odes of joy;
Of a sentence commuted;
And a life to employ.
Writer, erase the past,
And pencil in hues,
Of words of a life,
Made brand new.
Ink forth life,
From our loving God;
Prayed into being,
From the Word of God.

It's a writer's prayer, a praise to our Father, and a joy to read.
Could use some minor tweaking for consistent meter, but this is a very strong poem, one that I'd expect to see at a higher level.
