I just glanced and read the lone word, OWL.
Never realized the mistake that I had made;
When it was found, I let out a huge howl!
Oops!
One day, my sister-in-law cooked for workers;
Roasted a chicken to brown perfection!
Removing to serve, it slid on the floor;
The hungry men were faced with rejection!
Oops!
Another sister-in-law came to my home
As a tomboy, I looked a grimy sight!
I was young and she scrubbed me so very hard;
I packed a “sack” and began to take flight!
Oops!
We moved in to a nice, new neighborhood
Close neighbors, I choose to gift and to greet!
Baked fresh buns, which ended up in the air,
When I stumbled and nearly fell down on my seat
Oops!!
Now, many years have passed, and I am old;
But that word has never left me as yet.
I’ve made errors of various degrees,
Even this poem, I may live to regret!
Oops!
