I rushed out to our lemon tree, it was do or die!
There stood the tree, yes, all covered with lemons,
But the sight that I saw, left me in a dilemma!
Only one tiny lemon had a touch of yellow!
The rest were as green as a package of lime jello!
Dashing back in the house, I thought my problem solved,
I’d make a cherry pie;--at least that’s what I vowed!
I opened up, the hinged door of my freezer.
After all, the cherry pie would be easier!
There seemed to be many different things in there;
Not a single cherry, “Life just isn’t fair!”
Well, I’d make an apple pie. No apples to be found!
I should have salvaged more, when they fell to the ground!
Then, I resolved to make, a chocolate pie;
Just then, a dear neighbor came passing slowly by.
A knock, and I saw, in her outstretched hands,
A perfect, yellow, lemon pie! Just like I had planned!
At last, I had my wishes, for my company.
She had brought that lemon pie, especially for me!
The moral of this little tale? When things are tough;
You’re glad that you shared with your neighbor, just enough.
Now, she came to my aid, when I was in a plight!
So, why do many neighbors, only want to fight?

Such a happy, spirited poem! How true to life your adventure ran also. But in the end, everything worked out just fine. Thank you for the cheerful read. Needs some work on the rhythm and rhyme, but that will come with more practice. Good job!
Blessings!
