They’re the only ones that have violets; to bad they’re so far away.
As I raced back to see her now I’ve lost such precious time.
I didn’t see that patrol car, there was too much on my mind.
I heard the sirens and I looked in my mirror.
A State Trooper behind me the lights were getting nearer.
I pulled off the road.
Watching the lights as they glowed.
Are you going to a fire or what!
I just kept my mouth shut.
He wrote a ticket and said something to me, but all I could do was think of her…
I really couldn’t tell you what he said; my mind is still a blur…
The elevator door opened and I ran down the hall to be near her again.
She is all that I think about, my love, my life, and my best friend.
When I woke up beside her, I tried not to wake her, as she slept in the bed.
I tried not to make a sound, but she opened her eyes and turned her head.
“Hello handsome” she said to me “those flowers smell so nice like violet perfume”
“You know purple is my favorite color and they really light up the room”…
I held her hand and kissed it so tenderly and slow.
I looked her straight in the eyes, whispered I love you so very much, she said, “yes I know”.
How about we get out of here, lets go take a long ride.
We can go and have a picnic; she looked at me and sighed.
We’ll take the flowers along with us I know that you like them so much.
She grabbed my hand and motion no and she tightened up her clutch.
“Did I tell you that the color purple is my favorite color?”
“Could you bring me a flower to put in my hair?”
I kissed her neck and held her hand and slowly put the flower there…
“Oh I’m so tried I could really sleep, would you mind if I close my eyes”
No go ahead I’ll be right here, right by your side…
The monitor started flashing and I herd code red and that’s really all I remember…
You died on a Friday at 6:26am on the 5th day of September.
You were buried in that purple flowered dress the one you worn on our very first date.
I remembered how it flowed when you danced in it, you really looked great.
I got you a violet grave cover the purple was so bright it was a glow.
You really would have liked it, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO?
Our families and friends were all there to see you one last time.
WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME HERE ALL ALONE, WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME BEHIND?
It’s been over 2 years, and I still see you in that purple dress.
I can’t get you out of my head; I’m such a mess.
I’m going out tonight with your brother Ray he’s taking me out for dinner.
He’s worried about my eating and thinks I’m getting thinner…
I remember sitting at the table and Ray went to the bar to get a drink…
Then I saw you walk in through the door, I couldn’t breathe or blink…
You were wearing that purple dress, like you did on our first date.
Then I woke up in the hospital in such a confused state.
I felt so tried and my eyes rolled back as I fell asleep in that bed.
2:30am I woke up again, with such a pain in my head.
I pushed the button on the bed that rang the nurse’s station.
It seemed like hours before she got to me, I said, were you on vacation?
She said, “don’t worry now I’m right here” as she shined a light into my eyes.
I could smell her perfume it was lavender, much to my surprise.
That smell is relaxing I said to her as she put a needle into my IV
She smiled turned and looked at me and just said “really.”
I dreamed of a garden full of flowers that were all purple and a glow.
Then I woke to a bouquet of lavender, so bright I just said whoa!
The nurse came in and said “I see you’re finally awake.”
“I brought you some flowers” she said to me “they’ll help with your headache.”
“You really don’t remember me?” she said, as a tear rolled down her eye.
I’m sorry miss I really don’t. She didn’t like my reply.
Oh wait, sure I do, you came in my room with that light.
Yeah I remember you were here in the middle of the night…
She closed the door and came over to me, and started unbuttoning her nurse’s clothes.
As she did, I saw the purple dress was starting to be unexposed?
“It’s me your wife don’t you remember?”
“I wore this purple dress on our last date night”.
“The night we were in a car accident you remember we lost both head lights?”
“Our car crashed into a greenhouse full of violets in it.”
“You hit your head really hard the steering wheel made it split.”
“Since that time you died here twice, but by GOD’S grace your were revived.”
“I prayed for you every night, right here by your bedside.”
“You’ve been in a coma for 2 years and I had you transferred to the hospital where I work.”
“There where times when I thought that I lost you, I was really going berserk…”
The dress I remember yes I do it was worn by the love of my life,
Purple was her favorite color you see, and stop calling your self my wife…
She injected a needle into me her face full of stress.
The last thing I remembered as I closed my eyes was that purple dress.

In some rare instances amnesia can happen, even though the person does not recognize themselves or people around them, it has been show, that colors, clothing, aromas and alike could bring them out of this state, also, as in this case, drug induced comas have been shown to be a way of rebooting the mind, upon awaking…And the needle the his wife gave him placed him again back into a coma, the rushing, red lights and alike are his memories of the accident and other factors are from the injury, and “bad dream” state, like you tend to have when sick.
