When he woke up in prison Jacob thought he was in a dream, better yet a nightmare. A million thoughts were running through his head, he didn’t even know where to begin. He had no one to call to bail him out this time…
He was bitter, broken, confused, empty, and he was alone. These feelings seemed all too familiar. He thought he’d hit rock bottom before and swore to himself that he would never put himself back in this situation. He was done living that lifestyle. He couldn’t find a cure to the bondage he found himself in.
He picked up the phone to make a collect call to his daughter. She answered as excited as ever. At 7 years old she knew the cure.
“Daddy! I love you and I miss you so much!” She spurted out.
“I love you and I miss you too baby, I ca--,” his daughter cut him off.
“But I know someone who loves you more!! Jesus daddy! Jesus loves you! Me and Nana have been looking for places you can go for a while so you can feel Jesus’ love, because Nana says you’ll never be the same!” She said joyfully.
Two weeks later he enrolled into a Christian discipleship training program. His daughter was right. He never was the same. He loves and cares for his daughter with all his heart, but he loves Jesus Christ more. He now knows that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lords of Lords. He is saved and washed clean by the blood of the lamb. Today Jacob no longer feels empty, but filled with the Holy Spirit. He has a restored relationship with his family, and is set free from his bondage. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, the new things have come (2 Corinthians 5:17, NASB).
