The view of satan and his cohorts is strongly felt on this sub-continent – India. The eyes of the economists, politicians, businessmen for that matter everyone are upon this great and ancient land which has seen the rise and decline of many civilizations. The love and compassion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for this land is stronger than anything of the above mentioned. God knows that the need for His word coupled with the gifts of healing soul, body and mind instantaneously is very important. In these last days, when the second coming f our Lord is at hand, simultaneously the day, “India – for Jesus Christ” is truly not far off.
I held the cord hanging above me to balance myself in the moving train. Even while standing, I kept turning the pages of a book authored by Dr. Benita Francis on health subject. My senses prompted me, “Look! There is a seat empty. Why don’t you sit down there?” I lifted my head and did find vacant space between two persons of whom one was close to the window. Even before I could make an effort to move, another lady brushed me aside with such vehemence to occupy that vacant spot.
Her impolite attitude brewed anger in my pot. Anger without my volition rose up like milk boiling in a pan but then I put off the firewood aiding it from overflowing when on remembering the verse, “Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret – it only causes harm.” (Psalm 37:8). I spoke to myself “Why should this lady push me aside and rush there? I had no such intention of sitting down there whatsoever She could have just expressed her desire to sit down there.” However, unwilling to let anger place its upper hand on me, I convinced myself with these words. “Perhaps she is a patient who wants to rest for a while.”
Even before this thought could fade away, that lady dashed out like a sprinter. Hardly having settled down there for even less than a fraction of a second she jumped up and came rushing outside pushing me once again and threw me into such tantrums that left me seeking the cause for her strange behavior.
Before my words could move like a fleet f missiles or explode like a powerful atom bomb, I turned to the direction from whence she came running like a mad women. That was when I keenly observed the person who sat near the window. Her arms looked like an oil painting. Blood was smeared all over with decaying flesh protruding. Then it struck my mind – a leper.
Frankly, I cannot boast of being a true Christian. My immediate reaction would surely be similar to that of the lady who panicked and jumped out of her seat. Immediately my mind questioned. “If Jesus were here, then matters would surely be different isn’t it?” (Matthew 8:3)
My eyes welled up. I looked behind. Adding fuel to the fire already burning within me I saw a crippled man asking for alms. This reminded me of a miracle recorded in the life of Apostle Peter and John. They had the boldness to say, “Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I unto thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” In that moving train I received a moving message. I offered a simple prayer. “Lord the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few. Genuine laborers are very few. India needs You. Master please send workers into Your vineyard. Make me more like Thee.” (Matthew 9:37,38)
