I’d love to help, if I could, but it shouldn’t be that hard to take OFF the old contest webpage right at the deadline. Put up some temporary page that says “give me half an hour to get things together before I get the next contest posted” or something. That would be much better. I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one to appreciate that accountability. Thanks.
In the mean time, if you’re an entrant, and you find yourself past the deadline, ask yourself if you want to be accountable. If you do… don’t enter. I did just attempt to enter late, but that wasn’t to win a contest. It was to bring up an interesting subject.
And ps. Let me know if there’s a way that I can help. Seriously. Grace and Peace.
…. Okay, so I missed it by two or three minutes, but that really doesn’t change anything - other than that I get to be accountable by not “cheating” the deadline. I was ready to “cut and paste” into the contest, and I found the new subject had just come up. I’m not in a fiction phase, and I don’t have any facts about India, so I am going ahead with this. Besides, there is one little bonus for me. I can tickle a tiny spot on my fancy, by entering the contest first this week. That’ll entertain me for … however long it is before a second person enters (likely something actually about India!) behind me.
