Weightless, suspended and gliding in space, I embrace an exhilarating freedom; continual movement fuels the emotion.
A breathtakingly brilliant star obliterates the pale reflections cast by the lesser ones in the galaxy. What wonder is this that I behold? It has been traveling a distance measured in light years until it reaches the assigned destination. The radiant illumination focuses upon the little town of Bethlehem in Judea.
My spirit is unaware of any restraint or bodily containment; all sense of time has vanished. Eons upon eons, generations upon generations are conjoined, braided into a fine silken tapestry. I also become enfolded within it. Without any doubt, I know that all things are encompassed in Christ, the Alpha and the Omega; the beginning and the end.
I perceive Jesus as Almighty God, yet appearing in the flesh of a baby. The universe resounds with the voices of heavenly hosts singing songs of worship, praise and adoration. My heart swells and my voice joins in with the glorious harmony, rejoicing and honoring the miracle of this Christmas day.
Your name is Wonderful, your name is Wonderful, your name is Wonderful,
Jesus, my Lord; You are the mighty King, Master of everything. Your name is Wonderful, Jesus, My Lord. You’re the great Shepherd, the Rock of all ages, Almighty God are you! I bow down before You, love and adore You. Your name is Wonderful, Jesus, my Lord!
The enticing aroma of freshly percolated coffee seeps into the realm of my consciousness. As strong as my desire is to dwell forever in heavenly places, I inhale deeply, my entire body stretching luxuriously. Just as my feet touch the floor, my adorable Angelina flings her three-year-old self into my arms. “Mommy, its Christmas morning! Hurry, get up, it’s time to open the presents!”
I embrace the clinging traces of her sleepiness, burying my face in her neck and inhaling her sweetness. Oh, she, too, is the joy and the promise of heaven. In the warm glow of the Christmas tree, Joseph and I watch our child gleefully tear open the gifts that have teased and enticed her for so many days. Her happiness is reflected in Joseph’s eyes, and peaceful contentment lingers in our entwined fingers.
God’s message of love echoes between our hearts, “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy
might be full.” God’s gift of love, joy and peace in Jesus is the reason for the Christmas season!
