Memory as I see it has it advantages and disadvantages. There are some good memories, which for most people are regarding their childhood. Those who have no pleasant ones are also great in number; only most of them go unspoken for various reasons. I have yet to hear anyone explain why memories seem to visit us more after we are adults. We seem to waddle through our childhood, adolescence, teen years and then BAM! All of a sudden we find ourselves looking in the mirror of our mind and coming face to face with things that have been embedded there for so long. This can be very unsettling especially if we begin to try and unravel them in an attempt to understand our past. Although there are many things we may never figure out, most of them can be put to rest if we forget those things which are behind, and press toward the mark of the high calling of God.
As we look around and see the condition of the world today, we tend to drift back to former times when things were simple, slow, it seemed everyone knew everyone, people were always ready to lend a helping hand, share sorrowful grief of others, feed the hungry and attend church to actually hear the TRUTH preached. Yes, those seemed to be the good old days, but let us also remember the fact that for most people, those were hard times also.
I hear so many people complaining in a frustrated and fearful tone about losing their memory. They are referring to ‘short term memory’ though. It is so strange how we can hold on to items stored in our ‘long term memory’ and lose so many times, thoughts, and important moments that are important to us now. This is the time in which men have become weaker and wiser.
There is one thing of great importance that cannot be deleted from our memory and that is Jesus and a place called Calvary. No one, no demon in hell, or anything else can strip us of what is etched in our heart, mind and soul in that precious crimson blood. Worldly memories do not go with us to heaven. Life is a vapor and so goes this thing known as ‘memory’.

A very wise saying: "Life is a vapor and so goes this thing known as ‘memory’." We forget how fragile life really is, don't we? Blessings. (Write me sometime. Thank you for your comments on my many articles. :)
