I come to you this morning with joy in my heart.
The worship service yesterday was so special and it comforted my soul.
Hearing the children’s choir sing the Christmas songs was so wonderful. They may have even sounded better than last year.
Wasn’t it so cute when little Amanda Willard offered a prayer request for her cat who just had kittens? Our Sunday School teachers are really getting through to the kids, even the little ones.
Lexie Mills has been paying attention to the sermon instead of putting on makeup. She even took notes today. Lord continue to guide us in keeping her focused on growing as a Christian.
Mrs. Richards sure looked uncomfortable today when the sermon turned to reminding people not to gossip. What she said Wednesday evening about our new member Mrs. Smith sure was mean and Mr. Smith almost overheard her. Mrs. Richards did make a special trip to the back of the church after the service today though. She gave Mrs. Smith a hug and told her how happy she was to see her again. I guess the sermon made a difference.
The rope holding the bell in the steeple is getting worn Lord, please put it upon someone’s heart to check it. It could be an expensive repair if the bell falls.
Lord, thank you for giving me such a wonderful group of humans. Pastor Fred has done a wonderful job leading the members. They all truly love You. I have been decorated so beautifully for Christmas. The lights in the windows glows amazingly through my stained glass. And the fresh pine garland gives me such a nice woodsy smell.
The lady’s choir will be here later to practice for the Christmas Eve service. I’ll miss all the extra meetings and practices after Christmas is over. It is so lonely without anyone here. But I know Your work out in the world is important and will bring more people to me on Sunday mornings for worship. I so enjoy the congregation’s singing, especially when the church is full. I don’t even mind when my rafters tremble because I know it is to honor You.”
