The more we do in your name
The harder it is for us to hear
If our wishes are really the same
It's hard to remember you save by grace
It is easy to be self centered and boast
Forgetting you gave us each a place
Where you know we are needed most
We do good works for our own sake
To be lifted high in others eyes
The glory, we take all we can take
And miss the needy's plantive cries
When we forget to who we belong
Remind us we are your work of art
Let your Holy Spirit in us be strong
Show us what is needed on our part
Humble us to accept your unique plan
To step into our predestined place
And fill it it as only you know we can
With love, with mercy and with faith
