Everybody finds themselves in a moment of despair. Just because we follow one who is perfect, doesn’t make us so. Sometimes, our life seems pointless when we cannot see past the days. These are the times in which we need someone to tell us to hang on, that the Almighty knows what He is doing. These are the days when we do not have the strength to tell ourselves these facts.
I have suffered from such turmoil, and it is a wretched state of the soul. Then you ask, how do we know when to encourage somebody in such a time of despair? How do we know they are in such anguish? Some hide their emotions well, masking what they truly feel. Maybe, we should encourage each all the time. Let each other know, that we constantly are there should they need someone to talk to. Let each other know, that God knows what He is doing.
Encouragement is such a simple act with great repercussions. It is what can motivate us when we are feeling low. What can stir us to act when we are feeling helplessly idle. And it is what can cause a heart to look past the measure, and know the true worth of a soul.
