Topic: Fellowship (among believers) (10/11/07)
The fellowship that believers share is like going home to family, only better. A few years ago I had the opportunity to go to an anniversary celebration at a church I had attended for twenty years prior to my husband and I moving across the state. As I stepped through the doors of the church, I felt transported in time. The nostalgia I felt was due to the fact that my church family was there. Bonded together by God’s blood we shared relationships that ran far deeper than the superficial associations we have with others. The many prayers for each other created a timeless connection that cannot be broken by man.

The fellowship of believers is about sharing, caring, giving, exchanging, loving, laughing, and crying. It involves talking, praying, holding up holy hands together, and silently exchanged glances. Fellowship can be as simple as a hug I give to the elderly gent whose handshake is weak, but the twinkle in is eyes shines like the stars. Fellowship can run deep when I pray for a sister going through hard times. Fellowship can reach the heavens when I sing with joy next to Mr. Davis who can’t hit one note on key. Fellowship rejoices when a wee one is born and walks alongside one who has lost their beloved. The fellowship of believers is blessed by God and essential to our walk with him. It gives us a glimpse into our real home…heaven.

A lovely devotional, and I really like your use of parallel structure in your second paragraph.

There are a few minor grammar errors, but all in all this is sweet and refreshing.

See? This goes to show that God blesses us all with genres that we can easily make shine! I can't write a devotional to save my life, but you did a very good job with this lovely entry. First rate with your first challenge!

A beautiful description of fellowship - an excellent first entry. Maybe a bit more description would have fleshed this out a bit - but it is wonderful nonetheless!
