How do I begin to tell
Of what you mean to me,
My inner strength, my outer force,
My very dignity
All come from you;
And when my life is tossed and turned
As on a troubled sea
You, o Lord, are there to keep me safe
And calm in you.
This world has dealt me many a blow
As I have travelled through
And sometimes I have known despair
And felt the keenest woe;
At times I almost did believe
That you had let me go,
Then suddenly I felt your touch;
Your love, your peace did know.
O Lord, without you I am nought
And this world nothing worth;
There is no other can sustain
And keep me on this earth.
You are my rock, my force, my stay,
You shelter me from harm,
And even in the darkest night
And in the wildest storm
I know your love will bring me through
And I can still be calm in you.
