The words were cruel and stung hard
In the back of my brain
Dry lips searched for words
But the words that never came
Shock waves and tingling
Running all thru my head
The results are not what I had hoped for
The Doctor finally said
The tests, he said were positive
But how can this be
I know it happens to others
But most certainly not me
Then that awful word “Cancer”
That still echoes thru my mind
The word that strikes terror
At almost any time
The drive back to home
Seemed at least ten times as long
No more joy ringing in my heart
No more singing happy songs
I stumble blindly thru my door
As the tears start to flow
Swollen rivers of tears
From deep within my soul
Then I dropped down on my knees
Thinking this was the end
But “ Glory to God “ I remembered
That I’ve got a Friend
Now the cancer is gone
And I’m good as new
All praise and glory to God
To whom all praise is due

The rhythm didn't seem to fit in a couple of places.
Overall, this was really good, and fit the topic well. Great job.
