CLOTHES

There were SO many choices. So many shades...

Each promised happiness.

There were bright "swoopy" entries and those that were "stark" but more believable. I had my choice of the middle of the road too.

I figuered that I'd try them all. Just a sampling mind you. (No committment for me.)

And so I set out on my shopping trip.

I must have frustrated a hundred salesmen. I spent my life searching for my clothes. Sometimes I would be so close that it seemed that I had really found them. Upon further scrutiny, they just didn't measure up.

Days, weeks, then months passed as I grew weary from the effort. My old clothes hung on me like a "Hefty Cinch Sack"...and it was LAST YEAR'S Hefty Cinch Sack. Still, I plodded along, determined to get the right "fit".

One day, I happened to wind up in the gym. My reasoning here was that if I was going to wear the cinch sack, it ought to be encasing something somewhat attractive. As luck would have it, I ran into an old friend who mentioned an out of the way place to get new clothing. But HERE'S the kicker. YOU COULD GET THE CLOTHES FOR FREE!

Well, my radar went off like a madman! I left before the workout was over and made a beeline to the store.

Inside, I saw the perfect outfit. From the hat to the shoes, I KNEW that this outfit was meant for me. The problem was that everyone in the store seemed to feel the same way I did.

I went to the shop owner and offered him all the money I had saved up. I even promised MORE if he would just sell me that ensemble. He smiled softly...took the wardrobe off of the rack and said...

"No charge...I've already paid for your clothes".

Thanks for this parable. It helps us understand the amazing deal we got after searching in all the wrong places. I was confused at first by the "shades." I thought you were shopping for sunglasses! Also, an easy fix that, once learned, is easy to remember. Put your periods and commas INSIDE the quotation marks.

You've got a very creative entry here, and it makes a complex concept crystal clear. You must be a writer! Keep it up!
