Cathy was a very humble gentile lady who worked as a secretary. Her demeanor took on great strength however when she testified about finding something real. That entity was Jesus Christ as revealed to her by the Holy Spirit. The Lord had moved her out of traditional thinking about God and she was not about to return to it. She wanted the Lord in all of his manifest glory and demonstration of his power in her life and the anointing to share it with others.
Oh how we need the real God in all of his fullness in our time. We cannot be nice and sweet in the face of evil in our world today. It’s like a dark ugly cloud that oozes over the earth, sort of a poisonous manna. This sinister force takes on several forms; political darkness, drugs, venomous hatred for anything good, counterfeit gods, etc. Mankind has no explanation for all of this, nor the means to combat it.
The only solution to this encroaching cloud of evil is God himself, that something real that Cathy found. Will God personally come to earth and straighten everything out? A day will come when he will indeed do this. In the meantime, he prefers to manifest himself through those who believe him as did Abraham of old.
Throughout my many years of church attendance, I have sat under many pastors and teachers. Some of them were connected with seemingly nothing. Others presented discernible fruit of being with Jesus as was the case with Peter and John.
I recall a particular man-of-the-cloth who held what was reportedly a revival. His sermon consisted of a nice story with a moral teaching that offended no part of man’s fleshly nature. His prayer at the end of the service went something like, “take hold of the even that is within you.” For the life of me, I could not see anything real in all of it.
Other pastors and teachers, however, have possessed something real and alive. Their words take on an anointing that pierces to the heart. This world needs men that will accept the anointing of God; to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, to set at liberty those who are oppressed and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

I do have a couple questions. In the second paragraph where it says "humble gentile lady" were you saying she was a non-Jew, or did you mean "gentle"?
Also, in the paragraph about the minister holding a revival, is there a word left out in the phrase "Take hold of the even that is within you"? It doesn't make sense to me, and I'm curious as to what he wanted the people to take hold of! :)
It was a thought-provoking article, and I thank you for sharing it with us!
