Circling, growling
Within the flesh of man
Their eyes of hatred
Reflecting moonlight
As sin blankets the land
Discerning servant
Breathing Jesus
Your candle reveals the sin
Of hidden things
In murderous hearts
Blackening souls within
Be shrewd as serpents
Your Savior commands
Traps for your life have been set
Keep watching and praying
Thoughtful and wary
Fully aware of the threat
In courts of all nations
In den’s of all kings
In churches of every religion
Sentenced and scourged
For the sake of the Lamb
You will endure persecution
Sheep, hear the shepherd
For it will be given
What to speak in that hour
With no strength of your own
The battle is fought
Only by God’s mighty power
As danger surrounds you
With darkness prevailing
And terror on every side
The fear of mere man
Must be cast to its death
Midnight has arrived
