In the years before I asked Jesus to come into my life and made me a new person, I had been told God loved me. My religious training had made this very clear, yet some how this was an external knowledge that never went deeper than my conscious mind. Today I know Jesus as my Lord personally, by experience, in my daily life. He has made Himself real to me through the bible and by the power of the Holy Spirit. As He speaks to me through His word, I talk with Him through my prayers. My needs and concerns, the fears of my heart and the frustrations of my life are all brought to Him. The Holy Spirit has convinced me that Jesus loves me and is actively involved in my life. Therefore I trust Him to hear me when I call to Him and to answer me. This doesn’t mean the answer is always what I want. Nor does it mean His answer is instantaneous or immediately evident. But He does hear and He does answer.
The bible has taught me over the years of His heavenly throne and my guaranteed access to Him. I imagine my Lord in all His majesty seated there. Just think of the pomp and ceremony of an audience with a great King. Add to this the grandeur of heaven. Scripture further teaches that He welcomes me there. I love the Lord because Psalm 116:1&2 presents this Lord of the universe bending down from that throne to listen to what I have to say There have been times in my life when closest loved ones could not, or would not do this-yet He does. The best news is this intimacy is not reserved for a chosen few but to all who will receive Him as Savior and Lord. I love the Lord.
